Open access, licensing and preservation

Free reading and preservation of the scholarly record.

Policy version 1.0 · Effective date 2026-10-20

Copyright and CC BY

Published papers are readable without registration. Authors retain copyright and agree to CC BY 4.0 publication of accepted work. The license permits sharing and adaptation, including commercial use, subject to attribution, a license link and disclosure of changes. Third-party material may have separate permissions.

Author archiving

Authors may archive the published version in institutional or subject repositories with full citation, permanent article URL, existing DOI and license. Confidential reports and blinded review files are not public archive material. Website design and logo rights are distinct from article licensing.

Current backup and its limits

Daily encrypted database/private-file backups and restoration checks to a separate database are configured. One off-server snapshot has been obtained. This is not equivalent to independent long-term preservation: CLOCKSS, LOCKSS or Portico coverage is not confirmed. A standing external preservation and succession arrangement remains to be formalized.
